Biography
Dr. Joe Iwanaga, DDS, PhD, is affiliated with Tulane University in New Orleans, LA, where he continues his work as a clinical anatomist specializing in anatomical variations and microsurgical anatomy. A graduate of Tokyo Medical and Dental University School of Dentistry, Dr. Iwanaga is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon with expertise bridging dentistry, surgery, and clinical anatomy. He has published extensively, with over 252 indexed publications, including his most-cited work, "Acknowledging the use of human cadaveric tissues in research papers: Recommendations from anatomical journal editors" (2020), which has received 488 citations.
